Originally from Arkansas, Dr. Megan Shirey graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. She then attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated with a Doctorate of Optometry.
Dr. Shirey is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Arkansas Optometric Association, and is a Candidate for Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.
With her previous position at the Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Dr. Shirey routinely diagnosed, treated, and managed multiple conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vascular occlusions, cranial nerve palsies, and anterior segment disease.
Dr. Shirey also sees patients pre and post operatively cataract surgery and other procedures, as well as routine eye exams, including glasses and contact lenses. In addition to her experience, she also brings a warm and caring personality to her patient visits and is a great addition to our team.
